Woodworking has been a hobby of mine for many years.  Now that I am retired, I have time to really enjoy it.  My current project is turning wooden pen and pencil sets.  Although a bandsaw and drillpress are useful, the only essential tool is a lathe.

I get most of my supplies from the Woodcraft Supply Corporation.  They have a number of retail stores around the country offering hands-on workshops and a catalog.  Their website has a very informative area on pen turning.

My next project will be learning to use my scroll saw.  I plan to make small crosses for necklaces from wood salvaged from the trees removed from our church grounds.  As my skill increases, I want to create jig-saw puzzles.
