On November 18, OPAL went to New York City,
the highlight trip of the year. Radio City Music Hall is famous for its unique pipe organs and of
course, the Rockettes! |
| In October OPALs toured the Washington National Cathedral
in all of its splendor. The glorious rose windows, the catacombs and Woodrow
Wilson's tomb were highlights of this trip. A particularly memorable treat was
seeing the Luther Window. |

On October 13 and 15, OPAL sponsored 55 ALIVE.
This AARP
program helps older motorists improve driving skills, prevent car crashes, and avoid
traffic violations. |
| On May 20 1998, OPAL and friends went on a
picnic at Green
Spring Gardens Park in Alexandria, Virginia. The guided tour of the grounds was
interesting and informative. |

| In March, OPAL and friends took a Metro train
(subway) into downtown Arlington, Virginia USA to visit the Newseum, an interactive museum of news. |
